About My Experience
My family operated a large trail riding business in the mountains, managing a herd of 50 horses and leasing an additional 20 each summer. Daily responsibilities included training, feeding, grooming, and facility maintenance, along with handling basic equine first aid. Ensuring safety was a top priority—through careful risk management, strategic planning, and an in-depth understanding of horse and rider interactions, we maintained a low incident rate for both guests and animals. A key part of our success was the ability to make both horses and people feel comfortable, building trust through patience, clear communication, and adaptability. Running the business required unwavering commitment, with 12+ hour workdays being the norm. This experience instilled in me a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage high-pressure situations while delivering exceptional customer experiences.
