Hello, I'm Tamzin.
I have been riding since the age of 5 and have gained extensive experience working as both a groom and rider throughout my career. After attending an equestrian college in the UK, I focused on producing young horses, with experience across eventing yards, stud farms, and dressage disciplines. Since 2015, I have been seasonally managing an entire rescue and rehabilitation horse ranch in San Diego, where I oversee horse care, rehabilitation, and day-to-day operations. This role has further developed my leadership skills and deepened my understanding of equine care and welfare. I am proficient in all aspects of horse care, including grooming, exercising, braiding, clipping, mucking out stalls, and general ranch management. With a strong attention to detail, I can identify early signs of lameness, colic, and many other health issues. I am also skilled in administering first aid, including wound care, and am experienced in intravenous and intramuscular injections. My passion for horses drives my commitment to providing the highest level of care and support in every role.

About My Experience
With over 20 years of experience in the horse industry, I have held a range of roles, from managing and riding to training and caring for horses in both the UK and California. My career began with owning and caring for my own horse for 16 years, giving me a deep understanding of the responsibility and dedication required in the industry. I earned my National Diploma in Horse Management from Kingston Maurward College in the UK, which provided me with a solid foundation in equine care and management. In the UK, right out of college I worked as a Rider and Yard Manager at The Elèda Stables, where I was responsible for backing, breaking, and producing horses for eventing. I also gained experience assisting with horse trials and event management. My time at West Kington Stud involved handling stallions and foals, caring for young horses and assisting in stud collections. Additionally, I worked as a Groom for William Fox-Pitt during college, where I supported day-to-day care and training of competition horses, including assisting at horse trials. Since relocating to California, I have managed worked for a Dressage barn and now seasonally for a rescue and rehabilitation ranch at Saving Horses Inc., overseeing a team of volunteers and caring for a variety of horses, including ex-racehorses and difficult rescues. In this role, I also provide first aid, including administering injections, and managed training and rehabilitation for horses in need of specialized care.
